Hu Ge is nicknamed “Historical Prince” by his fans.
He’s a jack-of-all-trades, serving as a producer and a theater star, in addition to being a TV actor. He is also singer of many of the songs for the dramas in which he acts!
Hu Ge was the star of dozens of commercials during elementary and high school, and became a part-time TV host at only fourteen year old!
Unfortunately, Hu Ge and his assistant were in a car injury in 2006. His assistant died, while Hu Ge sustained multiple facial injuries. Nine months after the incident, Hu Ge sprang back into the entertainment business and focused on wuxia, an intriguing genre regarding ancient martial artists in China. In 2007, in memory of his late assistant, Hu Ge funded an elementary school for the needy in a Yunnan village.
Some of Hu Ge’s most famous TV series and movies are 1911 (featuring Li Bingbing and Jackie Chan, as well as many other Chinese celebrities), Nirvana in Fire (Hu Ge won the Best Actor Award at the 22nd Magnolia Awards for his role as Mei Changsu), and Games of Hunting.
In 2012, Hu Ge was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Hundred Flowers Awards (aka China’s Oscars!).
Hu Ge was chosen as the face for Emporio Armani’s Spring/Summer 2017 campaign and was complimented to be a “very talented young man with a great combination of contemporary style and sophisticated oriental wisdom” by Giorgio Armani.
