Chinese Zodiac Signs (Part I)

In Chinese culture, there are twelve zodiac symbols that correlate with the year you were born. Based on astrology, these symbols can affect your personality and future. Today, we will be discussing four of the zodiac signs: Dragon, Snake, Horse, and Goat.

Dragon

People born in the Year of the Dragon (1976, 1988, 2000, 2012) are perceived as the most powerful of the zodiac signs. They are driven, ambitious, and passionate. However, their ambition can be viewed as arrogance. People born under this year can be stubborn and may like to criticize others flaws.

Snake

People born in the Year of the Snake (1977, 1989, 2001, 2013) are humorous, lighthearted, and enthusiastic. Being very easy to talk to, they are especially good with spiritual work and determining others feelings. However, people born in the year of the snake can sometimes be lazy and stingy. Although they have many ambitions, they will put it off until “the time is right”.

Horse

People born in the Year of the Horse (1978, 1990, 2002, 2014) are typically easy going, warm-hearted people. Their positive attitude and endurance leads them to a bright future. Though intelligent, they are more cunning. People born under this year may have problems being selfish and self-centered.

Goat

People born in the Year of the Goat (1979, 1991, 2003, 2015) are kind, amicable, and mild-mannered. They are typically shy and would rather be in a group of people, rather than the center of attention. However, people born under this year may squander money easily on material goods.

    在中国人们认为生肖决定了你的性格和未来。龙,一旦决定了的事情就拉不回来了。蛇,很好说话,很有灵感可是很懒。马,很暖心也很聪明可是很自私。羊很善良也很有礼貌可是很害羞。

Wow. I think the zodiac signs are miraculously pretty accurate! As a person born in the dragon year, I really am “driven, ambitious, and passionate”. My family also calls me arrogant sometimes. Not only this, but I am also stubborn and often criticize others’ flaws “unintentionally”. I was amazed at how zodiac signs may represent actual personality traits of an individual. Thank you Maya for writing such an interesting article 😀
