Differences Between Public Parks in China and America!

We all love to spend some quality time with friends and family in parks. I know that I used to love playing on the playgrounds and swinging on the swing sets. However, public parks in America have some differences from public parks in China.

1. Size

Chinese public parks are usually large and lively for a few reasons. Since China is a highly populated country, many people don’t have private gardens or parks. They usually go to the park because it is like their “garden,” as well as because there are many activities.

2. Senior citizens

This may be stereotypical, but many Americans think of the elderly as people who like watching TV, playing bingo, and taking nice strolls. This is not as true in China. There are so many activities that mostly attract senior citizens in China, partially because they have so much free time. Some examples of these activities are ping pong, tai chi, exercise dance, and traditional fan dances.

3. Exercise

Many Chinese citizens get their exercise in free public parks, where, at the same time, they can enjoy nature and leisure. In America, many people have gym memberships that can not only be expensive, but are often times unused.

Wow this was a very interesting article. It’s cool to see how there are many activities for older people in the park. In America, there is not much for the elderly to do. The parks are large and very populated too. It was cool to see how similar, yet different the parks are.

This was really interesting! I didn’t know that China had large parks with ping pong tables. America should have parks like that!

Wow, Jennifer, great work! I had no idea that Chinese parks had so many activities for seniors such as ping pong, tai chi, exercise dance, and traditional fan dances. Maybe more Americans should spend time at the park to get exercise and not at a costly gym. Keep up the good work!
