The Art of Qigong 气功

气功 is a type of Chinese medicine that involves a series of movements and postures that utilize the body’s qi. Qi is the vital energy or life force that connects the entire being. 气功 has been a type of medicine that has worked and continues to work to this day, and is used by many people.

A little bit of the history of Qigong 气功:

Qi was derived from the ancient Chinese philosophy, which holds the belief that everything is related. The earliest known forms of qi movements were animal dances, usually used to counteract the symptoms of a cold and damp climate. It was also common that you would see Chinese shammons dancing throughout the village, to drive out pestilence and demons. The Book of Change, dated to around 1122 BC, first recorded the concept of qi, through studying the forces of heaven, earth, and man.  From that date on, the concept of qi was expanded by different people, believing they were exposed to different forms of what they felt was qi.

How do you perform Qigong 气功:

Qigong is an ancient Chinese system of postures, exercises, breathing techniques, and meditations. There are different types of postures, exercises etc. that are used specifically to counteract the type of illness you are trying to heal from. Qigong is similar to Tai Chi, which is another system that uses a combination of movements and postures to heal the body. Another way that Qigong is used is to allow one to help their circulation, balance, and alignment, through slow, constant movements. Overall, Qigong, is a technique used to heal one’s mind and body.

What is the purpose of Qigong 气功:

The purpose of Qigong 气功, is solely focused on the mobilization of functional potentialities by regulating one’s mind.
